Good morning, Andrada and Happy Tuesday!

This is Benchmark week. Today we will have 2 hour and 5 minute periods. 1st period is from 8:30 – 10:35, 3rd period is from 10:40 – 12:45, lunch is from 12:45 to 1:20 and 5th period is from 1:25 – 3:30..

Newspaper Club is cancelled today due to benchmarks.

The Spectrum Club – our LGBTQ & ally club – will be meeting Wednesday at lunch in the Art Room.


Attention freshman and sophomore students! Do you need a little extra help with your classes? If so, speak with an NHS officer, or Ms. Opalic in room 1201, about receiving free tutoring from an NHS member.

HEY ANDRADA: We are participating in a District-wide diaper drive that will last until this Friday, September 15th. The winning club (by weight) gets a Pizza Party! We’re also competing with the district let’s show them how awesome we are. We want to be the winning school of course! Please bring in Baby Diapers, Adult diapers, and any Hygiene products. Turn them into the club of your choice or the front office.


Hey Andrada! Seniors are selling Chocolate to raise money for the senior trip! They are a dollar a chocolate bar and are really good. Satisfy your sweet tooth and help raise money for the senior trip! You can also buy them in the front office.  Seniors who are interested in raising money, please see Mrs. Young in room 1104 to get your box of chocolate to sell!


Hey students, Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Wednesday and Thursday. Check your grades and be sure you’re caught up before it’s too late.


Attention Students!  Andrada will be hosting the Arizona College Consortium (con-sor-shum) TODAY from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.  You can speak to representatives from more than 12 different colleges in Arizona and New Mexico.  If you’re not taking a benchmark and would like to attend, please come see Ms. Chavez in the College and Career Center for a pass.


Do you have questions about one of the Arizona public universities??  Do you want to know more about the U of A, ASU, or NAU??  You and your parents should attend the Tri-University Tour!  It will be held TONIGHT from 6 to 8 PM at the Vail Theatre of the Arts.  Please see Ms. Hall in the College and Career Center for more information.


Attention Seniors!  Are you interested in applying to the University of Arizona?  The admissions representative will be on campus tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 13th from 9:30-11:15 to host an application workshop.  Bring your computer and fill out the application right there!  Email or see Ms. Hall if you would like more information.


Thank you to all of you who volunteered to be ambassadors for our Korean students. We still looking for 6 more host families for our Korean students arriving this January. Ask your folks if you can have a house guest for a month. If you are interested, stop by Mrs. Shroder’s room 2225 and pick up an application.  


Credit Recovery classes start today! Please see your advisory base teacher if you need your user name and password. If you do not have a AB teacher, please check in with Mr. Livingston.


Students! Are you ready for the first dance of the year? Well then get ready for the Disney in the dark dance this Friday the 15th! Come dressed as your favorite disney character! Tickets are 5$ Presale and 7$ at the door. The dance is open to all students. Bring extra money for food, though! You definitely don’t want to miss out!


Congratulations to the Empire Varsity Football Team for their 54 to zero Road Win at Amphi last Friday Night. Your Andrada Players showed up with outstanding Performances. Brandon Walker Scored his Touchdown of the year on a 35 yard touchdown pass, Ryan Pollock had a fumble recovery, and Kody McPherson dominated his opponent for a great Birthday Gift. Will Helwig and Chad Sandifer were outstanding as well. Empire is back on the field this Friday, September 15th for our annual Black Out game versus Cat Foothills. Wear black and come support our Ravens!


Cross Country had a solid performance with several great performances on the team to open our season. Sada Dewitt finished 3rd in her race for the Varsity Girls Silver Race as well as Katie Yelifari and Alice McKean helping the girls finish 12th overall. The boys had a solid race with Damien Orozco, Ethan Perrin and Boaz Maiyo leading our boys team to a 18th place finish. This meet had over 47 teams from Division I-IV so we are happy for a nice start to the season.


Students!  Want a chance to bring up your grade in a core class?  Then attend intersession during the first week of break.  Any student with a C or lower is invited to attend intersession.  You can ask your teacher or Mr Livingston for more details.

Any students who want to take the PSAT this Fall will need to sign up in the bookstore.  The cost is $20 and checks can be made out to Andrada High School.  The test date will be October 11th and the deadline to sign up is this Friday, September 15th.  If you have any questions please see Mr Livingston.


The Vail School District’s Varsity Robotics Team, “1828 the BoxerBots,” meets Wednesdays and Saturdays at Vail Academy. If you need a ride to Vail Academy, contact the BoxerBots at  


The African American Culture club will be meeting Wednesday at lunch in room 2108 and it is open to any student from any cultural background.


(Friday) There will be a SWAT club meeting in Mr. Arias’s room (#1202 )at lunch.

(Friday) Want to take a hike?  The Hiking Club will meet TODAY @ lunch in Mr. Mayeux’s Room 2202.  If you’re interested in going on Sunday’s hike, please come to the meeting.
