Good morning, Andrada and Happy Friday!     

 

Happy birthday if it’s your birthday today!

 

Students who eat lunch in the cafeteria will not be allowed to charge.  Please make sure you bring money or have money on your lunch account. Please see the front office if you need more information.

 

Are you interested in attending Pima Community College? We have a representative coming on Monday. Please see Miss Mackenzie in the counseling center if you would like to attend.

 

Want to play a team sport at Andrada?  Want to form a sense of community and make new friends?  Join the ultimate frisbee club and team, here at APHS. We meet Mondays during the first and second block in Mr. Alessini’s classroom:  2220. Bring your lunch and your friends!  See you on Mondays!

 

Are you interested in building, programming, electronics, design, or business? Then come check out the 1828 BoxerBots! We meet Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4 pm to 6 pm. Our meetings take place at Vail Academy and High School in the MPR. For more information or transportation help please email 1828boxerbots@gmail.com.

 

Class has been moved to the lush forests of ECUADOR!  Join Mrs. Daconta and many other students who have ALREADY signed up for the amazing Summer 2019 Galapagos Island adventure! Are you afraid you can’t afford the trip? No worries! Sign up for the PIE Club—that’s the “Pioneers In Expedition,” or PIE for short-— to raise funds for your travels! Do you want more info about the TRIP before you join the club? Come to the information session on Thursday, August 23rd at 6 PM in Room 2205. Snacks will be provided! Hope to see you there!

 

For our Andrada students who are interested in participating in Empire High School athletic activities, workouts have begun:

 

Open gym for the Empire boy’s basketball team will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00p-8:45pm. If you are planning on trying out for the Freshman, JV or Varsity teams you should make plans to attend all open gyms.

 

Empire baseball fall workouts have begun.  If you are interested in participating, please meet on the Empire baseball field at 4pm.

Do you want to go to college? Do you want to do your best on the ACTs? Then come to our ACT prep classes held here at Andrada on the following Saturdays: August 25th, October 20th and March 30th. Each session costs $35 and runs from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

 

Did you know that every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood? And that by giving blood you could help save 3 lives?! You can help by donating blood here at Andrada on Thursday, August 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Get your permission slip and make an appointment with the Blood Drive people on the stage during FWRB. If you donate at this event, the Red Cross will give you a $5 Amazon card!

 

Students, What are you doing with your freedom block today? Be sure you check to see if you have to go to Reteach or Academic Overtime in any class.

If you don’t have academic overtime or reteach, you have earned some free time!

 

Today’s activities are:

 

During Lunch block 1:

  • Mr. Farrell has Rockband Club
  • Mr. Nelson has Welding Club
  • The Spectrum Club is in Ms. Allen’s room
  • The Foodie Club is in Mr. Gomez’s room
  • You can make models with Mr. Frausel
  • You can play basketball
  • All other block 1 teachers have Academic Overtime or Open Lab

 

2nd lunch choices are:

  • You can play games with Ms. Quinn
  • Game Club will meet in Mr. Febbraro’s room
  • Every other block 2 teacher has Academic Overtime

 

The fitness room and library will be open for both blocks today.
