Wednesday is a Our first home cross country meet against Cienega and Buena at 3:30-5:30 on the soccer field. Come support our running Ravens!


Did you know that every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood? And that by giving blood you could help save 3 lives?! You can help by donating blood here at Andrada next Thursday, August 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Get your permission slip and make an appointment with the Blood Drive people on the stage during FWRB TODAY! You must have your permission slip by Thursday morning before you can donate. If you donate at this event, the Red Cross will give you a $5 Amazon card!

It’s finally here! The Australia, New Zealand and Rarotonga Island trip is confirmed for spring of 2020!! Our first informational meeting is Wednesday, September 12th at 6pm at the Vail Innovation Center next to Empire. Learn how you can get an instant $200 off your trip and pay for the rest with tax credits and much more. So mark your calendar for Sept. 12, spots won’t be available for long! Hello Mavericks! In January, Andrada is hosting 10 South Korean high school students for 3 weeks. Mrs. Shroder and Mr. Story are seeking Ambassadors and Host Families for this program. If you would like to be the Maverick representation on campus or at home for one of these students or would like more information please stop by Mrs. Shroder’s room #2225 or Mr. Story’s room #1101 and pick up an application. You must be in good academic standing. Applications are available now and are due by September 4th. There are limited spots available so hurry and get yours today!


Are you interested in building, programming, electronics, design, or business? Then come check out the 1828 BoxerBots! We meet Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4 pm to 6 pm. Our meetings take place at Vail Academy and High School in the MPR. For more information or transportation help please email


Want to play a team sport right here on campus at Andrada?  Want to meet new people and form a sense of community? Want to get hyped?  Join the ultimate frisbee team! Come to meetings Monday at lunch in Mr. Alessini’s classroom.  Our first practice is this Tuesday, August 28 after school from 3:30 to 4:45.


Class has been moved to the lush forests of ECUADOR!  Many students are ALREADY signed up for the amazing Summer 2019 Galapagos Island adventure, so the space available is now limited. Registration closes on August 31st, come see Mrs. Daconta in Room 2205 for more information on how to sign up for this once in a lifetime vacation!


For our Andrada students who are interested in participating in Empire High School athletic activities, workouts have begun:


Open gym for the Empire boy’s basketball team is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00p-8:45pm. If you are planning on trying out for the Freshman, JV or Varsity teams you should make plans to attend all open gyms.


Empire baseball fall workouts have begun.  If you are interested in participating, please meet on the Empire baseball field at 4pm.

Do you want to go to college? Do you want to do your best on the REAL ACTs? Then come to our ACT prep classes held here at Andrada on the following Saturdays: Saturday, October 20th and March 30th. Each session costs $35 and runs from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.


Students, What are you doing with your freedom block today? Be sure you check to see if you have to go to Reteach or Academic Overtime in any class.

If you don’t have academic overtime or reteach, you have earned some free time!

  • Math reteach with Greenwood, White, Labutan, Langley, Lynch, Hedgepeth, and Algebra 1 with Ms. Lynch,
  • The following teachers have Academic Overtime: Mr. Griffis, Ms. Quinn, Ms. Daconta, Mr. Dulnuan, Ms. Newton, Mr. Story, Ms. Turner, and the special ed department.


The fitness room and library will be open for both blocks today.
